Our Doctrinal Perspective

Our Doctrinal Perspective

At The Upper Room Studies, our aim is to help people encounter the Word of God in context—historically, culturally, and theologically—with clarity, reverence, and transformational impact. While our materials are accessible to all Christians, they reflect a doctrinal foundation shaped by a high view of Scripture, Christ-centered teaching, and the heritage of the Churches of Christ.

We believe:

  • The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, and our studies strive to reflect its integrity, historical context, and timeless relevance.
  • Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan, and the focal point of both Old and New Testaments.
  • Obedient faith in Jesus Christ is essential, including repentance, confession, baptism, and lifelong discipleship.
  • The church is the body of Christ, and we are called to build up the body through sound doctrine, communal worship, and loving service.
  • The restoration principle matters—we seek to return to the simplicity and power of the first-century church as described in Scripture, without denominational labels or manmade traditions.
  • Unity among believers matters—our resources are written to be used across congregations, fostering Christ-centered dialogue, not division.

While our studies are theologically rooted, they are written with grace and clarity, so that anyone—whether a seasoned teacher or a first-time group leader—can engage with God’s Word in a way that is both faithful and transformative.
